He made the night... He made the day... Spread the earth upon the water... Made the heavens and the rain... Looks at the sky... see its design... The very same creator is the one who gave us life... What is man that he's mindful of us? We're merely clay in His hands... What am I that He loves me so much He would die? All that I can say is...

Its GOD! -R. St. James

God is such a cool entity, so beyond us. Those of you who read my testimony know that I haven't always believed this; I used to be an atheist.

So why do I believe in Him?

-Take a look around you... do you believe that everything around you is the product of millions and millions of random occurrences? Come on, now. Even Darwin stated in his Origin of Species that it is impossible for certain complex structures to be products of purely science, and he even mentions
"The Creator" in certain spots, especially chapter 14.

-Many people every day report miracles... an elderly woman lifting up a sedan to help a child out from under the car... psychic visions becoming manifested in reality... etc... These things can't be explained through science.

-What happens after we die? Where do we go? Do we just become nothing, dust, and that is final? Our minds are built around the framework that we'll always be somewhere, we can't be nothing because it is unfathomable for us. Why is this?

-Those of us who have had near death experiences or life changing experiences often understand that those changes aren't brought about by randomness. There is definitely another entity, a higher power, at work.

So why do I believe in a Christian God?

-Christianity is the only religion with a complete guide to life, the Bible.

-Jesus Christ was proven to have walked across the earth. Many historians, secular and Christian, claim there is more proof of Jesus walking the earth than George Washington, even.

-Jesus Christ fulfilled all the prophecies for the Messiah in the Old Testament, well over 300. The next closest person to do that was Martin Luther King Jr., who fulfilled 7.

-The Bible contains valid historical accounts and valid historical characters. Furthermore, the characters in the Bible are sinners, imperfect (except Jesus, because He is God). No other religion admits that followers were imperfect.

-There is even scientific evidence of certain Biblical events, such as the Great Flood (the story of Noah) and a missing tenth of a day (as described in Isaiah when God set the sun back 10 degrees).

How reliable is the Bible?

-It is God's Word... The editor is God. That's a heck of an editor!

-2 Timothy 3:16 - "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (NRV)

However, the biggest reason to believe can't be summed up in words. No matter how hard I try to communicate my testimony to others, I can't give the change in my heart justice. When I became a Christian, I changed pretty amazingly. I had instant peace, happiness. Call it a crutch, call it a defense factor, call it whatever; the change is evident in me and if you open your heart up to Him, you will feel something similar. I wish that all could open themselves up and enjoy this glory. I can't force anyone to though, which kills me.
